Bese Saka (pronounced Beh-seh Sah-kah) is a Ghanian adinkra symbol translating to “sack of cola nuts'' and is associated with affluence, power, and abundance. The cola nut played an important role in the economic life of Ghana as a widely-used cash crop.
The vision of Besa Saka is to continue this tradition of affluence by sharing the richness of African culture through its vibrant woven products. We value traditional skills and will do everything we can to help artisanal communities to thrive. Every purchase at Bese Saka generates meaningful income for the makers and their families. All of our products are ‘Made in Ghana’ and will remain just that as we share the artistry of our ancestors with the world. Let's all embrace and celebrate the beauty of African culture!
